Air Quality Matters: Protecting Employees and Products

03/27/2026 by R2R Marketing

In today’s highly controlled industrial environments, air quality is a critical component of safety and product integrity.

At Climate Technologies, we work with clients across demanding industries, including large-scale automotive paint facilities, pharmaceutical clean rooms, food processing operations, and historic preservation projects, where proper ventilation, temperature control, and humidity management are essential. Even the smallest fluctuation in air conditions can have significant consequences.

Protecting Your People
Employee health and safety should always come first. Poor air quality can expose workers to harmful particulates that lead to discomfort or even long-term health risks.

Effective ventilation systems help remove airborne contaminants and introduce fresh, filtered air, reducing exposure and improving overall working conditions. When paired with precise temperature and humidity control, facilities can maintain a stable environment that supports well-being and productivity.

Preserving Product Quality
Across a wide range of industries, air quality plays a critical role in maintaining product integrity and operational consistency.

When environmental conditions aren’t properly controlled, the consequences can be costly, including product defects, contamination risks, and compliance challenges. Maintaining tight environmental control ensures consistency from start to finish, protecting both your reputation and your bottom line.

The Balance of Control
At Climate Technologies, we specialize in delivering integrated solutions that address ventilation, temperature, and humidity. By partnering with leading manufacturers and leveraging our deep technical expertise, we procure effective and efficient systems that meet the most demanding challenges.

Ventilation and climate-control systems are a significant investment. Protect that investment by getting it right the first time.

Climate Technologies is here to help. Call 248-477-2020 or contact us online.

Think Dehumidification Is a Summer Problem? Now’s the Time to Plan.

02/24/2026 by R2R Marketing

Most people think about humidity issues during the dog days of summer with sticky air, condensation, product quality concerns, and systems struggling to keep up.
Unfortunately, by the time humidity becomes a problem, it’s already too late to react efficiently.

Now (before summer arrives) is the time to think about dehumidification.

Why Planning Ahead Matters
Humidity control systems need to be properly designed, engineered, and installed to perform reliably during peak summer conditions. Addressing humidity upfront allows you to design a solution that actually fits your application so you can protect equipment and avoid downtime.

Experience That Makes the Difference
With more than 40 years of experience, Climate Technologies has been delivering humidity control solutions for industrial and commercial environments where performance matters. We work with a wide range of leading manufacturers, which means we’re not locked into a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, we evaluate your space, process, and requirements to provide the best solution for your specific application.

When the Unexpected Happens
Climate Technologies also offers dehumidification rental solutions to help stabilize conditions quickly when humidity becomes an immediate concern. Rentals can be a critical stopgap while permanent solutions are designed and implemented, or when moisture emergencies arise.

Start the Conversation Now
Now is the time to start thinking about dehumidification. Contact Climate Technologies today to address humidity proactively.

New Year, Smarter Systems: Planning for 2026

01/27/2026 by Climate Technologies

A new year is an opportunity to step back, evaluate what’s working, and plan smarter for what’s ahead. Facility owners and operators are facing increasing pressure to improve efficiency, control costs, and future-proof their mechanical systems. The most successful organizations aren’t just reacting to issues as they arise. They’re planning ahead.

Look at the Big Picture
One of the biggest mistakes facilities make is focusing on individual pieces of equipment instead of the system as a whole. Heating, cooling, humidity control, and air distribution all work together, and inefficiencies in one area can ripple across the entire facility. Planning for 2026 means evaluating how your systems interact and identifying where energy is being wasted. Does your current setup support your operational goals?

Plan for Efficiency and Resilience
Energy costs aren’t getting any lower, and downtime is extremely disruptive. Smarter system planning prioritizes both efficiency and reliability. That might mean upgrading aging equipment, rethinking control strategies, or considering factory-built central utility plants that provide better performance and scalability. The goal is to reduce energy usage and create systems that can adapt as your facility grows or changes.

Make Data-Driven Decisions
Modern building systems generate data. If used effectively, that data is valuable. As part of your 2026 planning, it’s important to assess how you’re monitoring system performance today. Are you tracking energy usage, temperature stability, and humidity control in a meaningful way? Leveraging data allows facilities to move from reactive maintenance to proactive problem-solving. This reduces surprises and extends equipment life.

Partner with Experts
Perhaps the most important step in planning for the year is choosing the right partner. At Climate Technologies, we specialize in unbiased, systems-level solutions. Working with multiple manufacturers, our focus is on solving complex challenges through technical expertise, thoughtful design, and long-term value.

Whether you’re considering upgrades, evaluating existing systems, or planning new construction, early collaboration leads to better results. Contact Climate Technologies today to plan smarter for 2026.

Open Letter from Walt Zimmerman

12/18/2025 by R2R Marketing

Dear Partners and Friends,

As you’ll see in today’s announcement, Climate Technologies is entering an exciting new chapter of leadership. After many years at the helm, I will transition into a new role in Business Development, while Jared Dipzinski and Max Sitek assume expanded leadership and ownership responsibilities.

Rather than repeating what’s already included in the press release, I want to use this letter to speak to you directly, not as a formal announcement, but as a personal note of gratitude and confidence.

This company, and this career, have been the most rewarding endeavor of my life.

Climate Technologies was founded more than 55 years ago. I joined the company in 1986, and in 1990 I assumed the role of CEO. That year, we brought together two legacy firms to form what is now Climate Technologies. From there, we experienced a period of tremendous growth. We grew from three employees to more than 30, expanded with offices in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, and evolved into a full-service climate solutions provider, from design and engineering through installation and commissioning.

I truly enjoyed the excitement of building a business, including the accelerated learning curve, the consistent focus on growth and innovation, and the expansion of my own education in business, marketing, and technical expertise. That journey, however, was not without its challenges. Economic uncertainty, including the Great Recession and its impact on the automotive industry, forced hard decisions, while managing a company of expanding complexity added its own demands.

One of the greatest challenges, and greatest rewards, was building the right team. Selecting the right people, leading them, and watching them grow has been one of the most meaningful accomplishments of my career. The employees, customers, strategic partners and vendors I’ve worked with over the years have left me with lasting memories and a deep sense of satisfaction. It is that same spirit of dedication and excellence that will carry Climate Technologies forward.

Passing the leadership torch to Jared and Max is something I do with great confidence. I brought this leadership team together intentionally, based on their unique strengths, capabilities, and 40 years of combined experience and expertise. I truly couldn’t have found two better individuals to lead Climate Technologies into its next chapter.

Although my role is changing, I want to be clear: I’m not going away. I will continue supporting the company in a business development capacity, working closely with key customers, market segments, and projects, and providing guidance wherever it’s helpful to ensure continuity and momentum.

To those who joined me on this adventure: thank you. Thank you for your trust, your collaboration, and your partnership over the years. You are the reason this journey has been so meaningful. I’m deeply grateful to everyone I’ve worked with along the way who made this career so rewarding and rich.

Most importantly, I want to reassure you that Climate Technologies remains fully committed to the level of service, technical expertise, and integrity you have come to expect. That commitment will not change.

With sincere appreciation,

Walt Zimmerman
