Battery Dry Rooms

07/14/2021 By K-Kom Marketing

The development and manufacturing of lithium batteries needs to take place in ultra low humidity dry rooms, whether in a small R&D lab environment or a large scale production facility.

The Munters solution

Munters pioneered desiccant dehumidifier technology, and their innovative solutions are used in lithium battery production facilities all over the world.

Most manufacturers need the dry rooms to be maintained at a dew point of -40°C ( -40°F), and the industry standard could be even lower in the years to come. Munters have delivered dry rooms capable of -60°C (-76°F), and has the best technology for the potential demands of the future.

Thanks to Munters patented Green PowerPurge technology, their dry room solutions consume less energy, meet your requirements with a smaller physical footprint than the competition, reducing your overall total cost of ownership.

Benefits:

  • Easily achieves -70°F (-57°C) supply dew point
  • Consistently maintain conditions even with seasonal ambient conditions
  • Energy optimization for cooling
  • Annual energy savings are 25-45% versus conventional systems
  • Qualifies for LEED building certification

Natural Refrigerants

01/26/2021 By K-Kom Marketing

We call them “natural refrigerants” because they are substances that occur naturally.  The most commonly used ones are ammonia (NH3) and carbon dioxide (CO2).  These substances were used as refrigerants until the 1930’s before fluorinated gases (f-gases) became more common in refrigeration systems.

Due to growing concerns about the harmful effects that refrigerants can exert on the environment, natural refrigerants have undergone a new rebirth, especially the NH3 and CO2 used for low temperature industrial purposes. Climate Technologies is partnered with M&M and Carnot Refrigeration to bring integrated, highly efficient cooling solutions using natural refrigerants to our customers.  Each manufacturer offers environmentally sustainable refrigeration equipment for Commercial, Data Center, Industrial and Recreational applications.

Ammonia (NH3)

  • Does not destroy the ozone layer.
  • Produces temperatures down to -70 degrees C
  • Alternative refrigerant for both refrigeration systems and air conditioning systems
  • Can be used in new and existing equipment.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2)

  • CO2 has a high thermal conductivity and high gas phase density, important factors for a good transfer of heat in evaporators, condensers and gas chillers; these characteristics allow a selection of smaller equipment compared to those using f-gases.
  • Low pressure drop, allowing a reduction in pipe diameter
  • Good alternative for commercial and industrial refrigeration
