Climate Technologies History and Evolution

The foundation of our engineering expertise traces back to two pioneering firms: R. Johnson Associates (incorporated in 1970) and R. Plazibat Associates (formed in 1976). Both of these legacy organizations were heavily engaged in the intricacies of industrial temperature control, humidity regulation, and process heat exchange.

Our former CEO, Walt Zimmerman, joined Plazibat Associates in 1986 and assumed full ownership in 1989. The following year, Zimmerman acquired Johnson Associates, successfully merging the two specialized firms to create Climate Technologies Corporation.

Since that strategic merger, we have steadily grown into a full-service provider, offering comprehensive equipment service, custom manufacturing, and turnkey project solutions. In 1996, we further diversified our capabilities by taking on and developing advanced environmental control and energy management solutions. Today, Climate Technologies continues to innovate and expand its footprint, bringing our critical infrastructure expertise to new industrial markets, government and military sectors, and international clients.

When Walt retired at the end of 2025, he passed the torch to longtime employees Jared Dipzinski and Max Sitek, who continue the Climate Technologies legacy and commitment to excellence.
